How to get there

• From Préveranges, look for and follow signs to Culan (direction St Amand-Montrond).
• At Culan, follow D-997, direction St Amand-Montrond
• You will come to a roundabout at the outskirts of St Amand. Here you want to follow signs for the N-144 direction Bourges.
• Take the N-144 towards Bourges for about 6 km. Watch for signs indicating the turn-off to Noirlac, which will be on the left.

The abbey is tucked away in idyllic cleft in the surrounding hills. It's an ideal place for a picnic lunch... there are tables near the parking area.

The cuisine at the small aubèrge across the road from the abbey, just outside the portal leaging into the charming village of Noirlac, is excellent.
